My first time mountain biking Mt. Hough in California and this downhill just keeps going!
We headed to Mt. Hough in the Plumas National Forest for a full day of mountain biking and took on two separate descents. This video covers the first: the Mt. Hough Classic.
The Mt. Hough Classic is a long, fast, and flowy mountain bike descent with flowing singletrack, berms, rollers, jumps, and plenty of elevation loss. It’s a great introduction to what Mt. Hough has to offer, and there was no shortage of trail to enjoy on the way down.
We were lucky enough to have Yuba Expeditions shuttle us for the day, giving us the chance to maximize our time on the mountain and get straight back up for another descent.
Big shout out to the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship for all the work they’re doing to build and maintain these trails, and to Yuba Expeditions for getting us up the mountain.
With two huge descents to ride, we split the Mt. Hough experience into two videos. Video #2 takes on Tollgate, the newest addition to the Mt. Hough trail system and it turned out to be my favorite trail of the day.
Mt. Hough is located in the Plumas National Forest near Quincy, California. The trails are open to the public and free to ride, with multi-use trails open in both directions.
